The purpose of this course is to raise the level of awareness among healthcare professionals of the far-reaching consequences of malnutrition on American hospital patients, and the impact that nutrition care has on maximizing patient outcomes while minimizing costs for healthcare stakeholders.
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Discuss the consequences of malnutrition on U.S. hospital patients
- Describe the effects of poor nutritional status on patient recoveries
- Recognize the impact that nutrition care has on maximizing patient outcomes
- Explain how nutrition intervention can minimize costs to health insurance companies, health plans, and other stakeholders in the medical system
Approved Clock Hours
The program has been approved by the FL Board of Nursing to provide registered nurses and licensed practical nurses with one clock hour. The program is also approved by the Commission for Case Manager Certification to provide CCM board-certified case managers with one clock hour.
